Welcome

Welcome to Dr. Deng’s Research Group at National Cheng Kung University. Our research sits at the intersection of nanophotonics, 2D materials, and micro/nanofluidics, spanning from fundamental light-matter interaction to practical applications.

Our group specializes in engineering advanced optical phenomena across diverse platforms. We leverage freestanding nanomembranes to achieve atomic-scale control of light coupling with 2D materials. Furthermore, we develop low-loss, all-dielectric surface wave platforms tailored by metasurfaces for next-generation on-chip photonic logic and integrated circuits. Bridging the gap between photonics and biotechnology, we also design nanofluidic Lab-on-a-Chip systems that utilize electrokinetic mechanisms for high-sensitivity, portable point-of-care diagnostics.

We are a highly interdisciplinary team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of engineered light-matter interactions. We sincerely welcome motivated students and researchers from all backgrounds to join us.
